Food Preservation Basics: Water Bath & Pressure Canning:

Summer has us thinking about gardens, fresh produce, farmers markets and all the bounty Ohio has to offer. Even as we are enjoying the fresh items, we also think to the winter months ahead. Preserving the bounty is a great way to offer good nutrition and healthy meals to our family. But where do you start? Should I freeze or can the green beans? Do I use a boiling water bath or a pressure canner to preserve tomatoes? If these are question that you have, the Food Preservation Basics class is for you.  Learn when and how to use each preservation method and why it is important to follow recommended guidelines for safety.
