OSU Extension family and consumer sciences (FCS) gives people the knowledge, skills and tools needed to make healthy, informed choices. We teach and promote safe food practices, better nutrition, better finances and better relationships – helping people acquire the knowledge and skills to make smart decisions in these areas.
Our upcoming fall classes cover a wide range of topics to help everyone reach their individual goals.
- Money 101 Series: a four week workshop designed to help you establish good financial practices
- ServSafe® & Person In Charge Food Safety Training: these programs provide food service managers, operators, and owners with up-to-date information on all aspects of handling food (upon completion of ServSafe® program, participant receive a ServSafe® Certification and an Ohio Food Protection Certification from the Ohio Department of Health, Person In Charge participant will receive certificate of completion)
- Freeze Drying: one of the newest preservation methods. Learn about the process, the machine and the food
- Getting Your DOCS in a Row: an overview of essential documents for life and pre-retirement planning
