Fulton Soil & Water Conservation District and Ohio State University Extension – Fulton County will be co-hosting a meeting on Friday, December 11th from 9:00-11:00 a.m. for farmers to get a better understanding of the new nutrient application bill. Having become effective on July 3, 2015, Senate Bill 1 places restrictions on commercial fertilizer and manure applications throughout the Western Lake Erie Basin. If you are a livestock farmer, custom manure applicator or crop farmer who utilizes manure as fertilizer, plan to attend this meeting to find out how Senate Bill 1 can impact your farming operation. The meeting is free and open to the public.
The meeting will be held at the Robert Fulton Ag Center, 8770 State Route 108, Wauseon, OH 43567 across from the fairgrounds. Matt Lane from the Ohio Division of Natural Resources will provide detailed information on the bill’s rules, restrictions and exemptions. Brief comments will be given by NRCS/SWCD and OSUE. Please contact OSUE at 419-337-9210 or Fulton SWCD at 419-337-9217, if you have questions. Pre-registration is not required. Click here for a flyer.
